FAQ - Drew Malcolm

F.A.Q.

If you have a question that is not answered here, please email drew@drewmalcolm.com.au

How much do you charge to come and shoot photos and/or videos?

Every photo shoot is different, and attracts varying challenges both artistically and logistically. Because of this, pricing can change greatly from one shoot to the next. A personal shoot with no expenses or travel, start at $150 for an hour.

Event coverage and commercial projects are highly personalised and varied. To discuss pricing and options, please get in touch with me with your concept and budget, and I will get back to you within 24 hours.

Where are you based?

That depends on the time of year and current projects! Generally speaking, I am either based in Australia or Europe, however no location is off limits and it's always exciting to travel to somewhere different for a new project.

Do you offer custom prints?

Yes! We'd love to help you out. Firstly, check out the Prints FAQ section. If that doesn't answer your question, simply get in contact or email drew@drewmalcolm.com.au with your request.

What other contact options do you have besides email?

Since I travel a lot, emails are a sure way to get in contact with me. If you'd like to have a chat, here are some options that will work.

Can you help with post production of personal images and video?

Yes! If you have some photos or video that you've captured yourself but aren't comfortable doing the post production, I can offer this as a simple service. Wether it's editing together some GoPro footage from your recent holiday, removing spots and blemishes from your photos or simply prepping your work to look it's best.

I use professional software from Adobe such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro & After Effects.

Send me an email at drew@drewmalcolm.com.au to discuss your needs.

Do you have your own boat or does one need to be provided for an on water shoot?

At this stage, a suitable boat needs to be provided for any on water shoots. To discuss what is best suited for your project, please get in touch.

What equipment do you use and what services can you provide?

I shoot with all Nikon camera bodies and lenses. This allows me access to one of the largest ranges of professional cameras and glasses offered by any brand. Drone & gimbals are all DJI products. For drones, the Mavic 2 Pro is my compact option, and Phantom 4 Pro being a good solid option when size isn't such an issue. Waterproof housings and weatherproof covers are all by Aquatech, allowing me to shoot in or under the water with ease, and on board any boat regardless of how wet it may be.

All stills are shot in raw files, this is the largest, least compressed option and allows for the most post production options to bring out the best in any image. These are large enough for any printing desires, scalable up to billboards. Video can be taken at up to 120 frames per second to allow for 5x slow motion, and up to ultra high definition (UHD) otherwise known as 4K.
